Stop Piracy: Use Pirate Preventing CD’s/DVD’s

Piracy has been a great issue in today’s technology.  In the rise of accessing information easily through the Internet, part of it is the rampant copying and unlicensed redistribution of information through writable media, such as CDs/DVDs.  This is against the owner’s rights.

There have been a lot of attempts done by software companies to protect their products, such as the hidden copy-protection software of Sony BMG which automatically installs files and hides these to the system which restricts how many times the discs’ tracks could be copied but this software leads to certain issues that endangers the user’s system because the removal of the files installed can disable the PC’s CD Drive (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10053831/).

These issues serve as a motivation for the researchers to pursue this study.  The researchers want to look for solution/s against piracy that will be both convenient to the users and the industry.

Almost every one depends on writable media for file storage.  CDs/DVDs are the most frequently used storage media.  However, in today’s technology, these storage media are prone to direct copying without authorization from the owner of the CD/DVD.  This act can be out of the control of the software developers or the owners because this may come unnoticeable. In the software industry, if the act of piracy continues, the industry will surely deflate.

Piracy, also, is the greatest factor that propagates viruses, spywares, and other malicious threats that harm the system.

  1. actually, the researchers for these CD’s/DVD’s are still looking for ways of developing the concept successfully which can never harm the system..they plan to make something that can be as user-friendly as possible…
